bisekletaguy Moderator Pro Cyclist Online Posts: 1487 WORK HARD TO PLAY HARD TEST OF STRENGTH Jalajala to Mabitac 67kms EAST OF MANILA July 4 2009 « on: July 04, 2009, 08:29:09 PM » Quote Modify Remove Split Topic dear friends, in case you are wondering if this TEST OF STRENGTH (and dexterity?) race pushed through.... it did.... over 100 cyclists open executive class participated never mind the 500pesos entrance and the perilous JalaJala route full of cracked concrete, wet concrete road, slippery snails on the roads, muddy rough roads and killer road blocks (steel or wood railings).. anyway the race was fast 45---41kph and in between..after 40kms i suffer flat...kaight forgie stopped offered leain's wheel...(thanks kaight of course i cant accept) i watched helplessly as dondie passed by...fortunately for me took me less than 5 minutes fix replace my own inner tube..hop on my bike pedal crazy...passed by doc butch ydia of team pldt he also has a flat tire...i wanted to help he said "no...call my driver" at 60kms mark i catch dondie we rode together finished together and he allows me 2 inch win over the line today..thanks dondie hd reynolds did very well..no puncture until last 3 kms he punctured..but he fixed his puncture too so 4 out of 4 all teamrocka cyclists finished. congrats to my teammate tiboy reyes, liston yao, dennis datu for finishing this race too. the real race began after the peloton released at kms 20...8 man group brokeaway including ronnie and bitoy of team pldt. at the foot of climb up mabitac the chase group was led by kiko valenzuela in COLUMBIA jersey..he brought with him thee new lead group consist of team Fitness First Leian Cruz. Kiko valenzuela eventually won FIRST and Leian got 4th place..Bitoy daa got 10th place. warmest congratulations to all the winners forgive me if i fail to mention the other winners names... i wasnt able to go take foto at podium...i was dead tired with my team having gatorade at Manangs eatery.. overall...a fun race..thanks so much to the organizers and participants..im really surprized at the high level of racing today..no one crashed inspite of the obstacle course look alike race course. Congratulations to all. raymond see John Wilkie bikeshop and doctor dee sponsored race with cash prizes 10,000pesos to the winner over JalaJala-up Mabitac the classic TEST OF STRENGTH. registration corner well he can hide behind a wall but paparazzi raymond see knows Kiko Valenzuela in team Columbia jersey will be the man to beat today...when he showed up at DPWH well this team may be slow..but you gotta admit they probably are the bravest..no complaints whatsoever as to which race they will be racing in....Open exec race pitting open against execs? bring it on...just go out and race.... tony lopez of team Heritage park..present! dondie initially said he is not feeling well...and he wont be racing as he will be the sag wagon support crew driver...of team PLDT there he is..dondie azarcon will be racing today too... wow isnt she looking even lovelier these days....lovely in pink...wonderwoman kaight forgie atty mike yngson of team XTERRA..present too. arrival of explorer pick up of boy "the admiral" tiples of team CNC olive of team xterra did very very well dante valdez shows off the new team Life Cycle jersey, pro rider enrique domingo and team MOSSIMO jojo and quin baterna (not racing again?) and their team team AF (arena Fitness) present and now contemplating on joining Tour of Friendship 2010 (go for it dennis) team 7 lakes /2Go erwin rili and Marlo Pua also present (they want to go to Bohol) Kzar in his new Life Cycle Jersey with atty raymond zorilla in his black Harley Davidson T shirt "cant race im 10lbs overweight ray" he said ..and so atty raymond brought his other superbike "HARLEY DAVIDSON" and decides to be escort service « Last Edit: July 04, 2009, 08:52:50 PM by bisekletaguy » Report to moderator 122.55.165.38

These are the otherwise referred to as Open Elite racers (as oppose to pro elites - sorry no admittance for them). I waited for the awarding at the finish and managed to snapped this pic of Leian who just received his trophy and prize money from Dr. Chino (the good Dr. is the brother of John Wilkie - he announced a big as in MASSIVE open exec race in 2010 with a purse of P1M (yes 1 million) which will be 7 stages long around Luzon). They had maybe at least 8 riders some of which were already travelling as early as 2 a.m. as they had riders from Balayan Batangas as well as Olongapo Zambales...
