when it rains it pours, barely two weeks after the successful TLBF...cyclists here in manila gets invited to the 94K celebrations as part of the opening of the beautiful Clark Subic Tarlac hiway. The HUGELY SUCCESSFUL race was organized by Ric Rodriguez and it marks the first time ric organizes a road race solely for the bcpros (acronym given by ric to amateur busy corporate professionals)

teamrocka1bikeshop decided to field in a team to participate..as 6 of our riders will go race in Tour of Egat Thailand on May 2, 2008...and we figured this will be a nice work out.

category B race will ride 120kilometers of beautiful scenery, the first and last time we can enjoy racing in the Super Hiway and when we arrive inside Clark during the registration time we got overwhelmed by the hugh turnout. Of the 300 cyclists over 150 riders participated in category B which consists of intermediate riders another 130 riders participated in the beginers class cat C group and only around 20 riders participated in the category A (advanced category) So from this figures you can have an overview already of how far..how BIG amateur business class has become in Manila.

I was talking to my friend Dennis Tojos from teamPaircargo during the neutral lap..."dennis you remember we rode the 2005 race of bobby de jesus in zambales before...how many were we in that race...no more than 35 i think...here we race with 150 category b riders..new teams coming up every week ..and the race organizers picking out very very nice beautiful scenic routes diba..im very very happy for us cyclists this things just keeps getting better and better and we have races 3-4 times a month!." i said Grin

well what can i tell you about the race..its a triple punch race..we have to ride 120kms long distance nonstop negotiate the full length of the hi way with no rest stops in between no trees to cover us up under the heat and so many hills and strong headwinds to do battle against. But in the end those who finished the race had lots of story telling ...."it was a beautiful race ..im dying ..man but im a team rocka rider....i couldnt quit..i couldnt ride the sag wagon...as no team rocka riders ride the sag wagon...we ride last..but we finish races man.." said our new rider skipper pineda who after suffering his Subic races just two weeks before..suffered under the heat in the 150kilometer non stop race for category A

thats our guy skipper pineda with UK's ironman Champion miss Chrissie Wellington in cat A awaiting the start of cat A

won by Aves of team Elixir , Ernie Hortaleza team microsoft second and Eric Carandang of team Fitness first 3rd.

I congratulated Eric Carandang after he freshened up..."ray i just found out after 145 kilometers of hard riding when i attempted to rise up to sprint my muscles pulled up..so cant do anything have to sit down take the third spot" says eric who had a wonderful race too.

"mommy that was a hard race but that was well worth it..its my confidence building race enroute to thailand...and im very very happy teamrocka teammates Tiboy Reyes was very strong and Philip Go he was stronger than tiboy with about 40 riders up front peeled off only after 100kilometers of hard riding...thats a fantastic race for them so i see them now doing a very good race in Thailand" i said...

after the race Philip Go and Tiboy Reyes invited teamrocka for protein loading lunch at C Italian classy restaurant where we had a fantastic protein loading and great story telling.

we look forward to race with you guys again. we take this opportunity to say Thanks so much to the organizers to Ric Rodriguez and Jack Yabut to all the winners and participants from the other teams..It was fantastic to see all you guys yestreday enjoying the 120kilometer super duper race.

mabuhay po kayong lahat.

the peloton of categoryB rode 38-44 kms per hour.. after 3 hours... only 40 riders remained up front...and rest broken up to ride solo or with 2-3 persons...thats how it went for cat B Shocked

doc brian with the blue jersey "hi ray ...im cat c returned back to riding after 9 years absence..but i figured we from team xterra have to ride cat B to see the beautiful view of the SCTEX"

teamcnc rode together and helped each other out in the 120kms race..thats what i call GREAT TEAMWORK! Grin"""

team CNC cavite nuevo ciclismo suffering on the false flats...at the approach of the mountains cut in half.....to allow the expressway to go through...

thats my good friend team logic gate TOUR OF EGAT rider jojo baterna with team support vehicle in tow Grin

the heat and lack of water caused cramps..here one of the team davids salon ladies suffered cramps and had to stretch out at the side of the road

i missed this train going back to the finish line lead by teamcnc and polotri riders on the way back with some 30kilometers to go...very strong riding by this group...Congratulations!

team fitness first with category A riders had to ride 150kms nonstop yesterday look at this calendar poster perfect shot taken by my wife margie yesterday
Shocked Shocked Shocked
