Tour of Friendship'09
May 2nd-6th 2009
May 2nd : Time trial in bkk
May 3rd : BKK - Srinakarin dam
May 4th : Srinakarin dam - Srisawat
May 5th : Srinakarin dam - Supanburi
May 6th : Supanburi - Nonthaburi

This discription is not the same as the one left from her in the "Tour of EGAT" Forum.
There the finish at 3rd is named Kanchanaburi - and thats different to Srinakarin Dam.

I have been there at 1.12. tracking all Streets would be interesting for the race, but until there is no better exacly description about the routes by towns or/and streetnumbers i cant give out any help by a profile or what ever.

I am Sorry, but i will put an estimated km and hm when got the last parts ready.

Bye Thomas

hi thomas,

thanks for the information.

do you have any idea which stages are flat, rolling or climbing?

i would guess that the time trial in bangkok would be flat and the stages with dams will be hilly?

in your opinion, which stage would be the most difficult?

thanks,

Tour of Friendship

Possible like this: - but theres NOT Garantie, because the Finish and Starts are really not sure to find or locate ... I will update, when I have better Information

1. Stage - Timetrial : sure flat, but what is the Distance ?

2. Stage - Bkk-Srin : first flat, easy going up - but around Kanchanaburi and closer to the Dam like last time at 1st day Egat 2008 to Nakhon Nayok and Dam; 170 km ?

3. Stage - Srin - Sri : directly after the start down of Dam (is a Parking area) it goes left on the street to Sri Sawat very steep, later often short climbings and a older but wunderfull curve ! streeet to Sri Sawat. Here after Start and later about km 58 the field will seperate; 64 km should be enough for this day ...

4. Stage - Srin - Suphan : same Start at Parking i think, and until passing area of Kanchanaburi some friendly hills, rest is more flat on the highways there ... - 170 km ?

5. Stage . Suphn - Nothan : flat ..., about 80 km

The Red lines in the Pictures are Hills with an Up of 15 and more Percent gradient!

Hi Thomas,

Do you know the hotel foreign teams will stay in Bangkok, Ms. Kai said that it is the SP Palace Hotel? I cannot find SP Palace Hotel in google. Instead I found a SD Palace Hotel or Suan Dusit Palace Hotel. Do you know if this the same place?

Thanks,

Happy new year and thanks for the information Thomas.

I think the Suan Dusit Hotel is near the hotel we stayed in 2008 (Royal River Hotel). I will make my final decision whether to join the Tour of Friendship after the Tour of Luzon team manager's meeting on January 17.

Prost!!!

Also you all Healthy new Year !

I am just back from the Meeting with Comitee "Tour of Friendship 2009" from 08.-10.01.2009 in Bangkok, Kanchanaburi and Supahnburi.

I just sent first Information to Khun Kai - she has to promote and to offer Information to Public.

But the Hotels i saw and Position is really good.
Therefore later more, when I have ready the Maps.

Also the Distances are sure about a few meter, but here I am not ready with an last check.
Also Khun Kai will publishing than later.

Raymond,
this is not sure until now because I promissed first Willy (Laos Team) to visit them from 25.03. 30 Days in Vietiane.

So only if something happen to this appointment I could come to Philippines. Sorry about Misunderstanding ...

It seems like that I can come again about 20 of July(07) to you again that I dont loose to much Visadays I have.
I just need then again your help with the Letter Invitation and possible Register and take part some Race that the Embassy dont have to complain again.

Even to the Meeting (ToF 2009) I travelled by Bus here in Thailand 23 hours to bangkok and 16 hours back - only to get more new ways for the tracking into Tripplaner here. I got 1.060 new km.
So you can imagine when I go to Laos or later again Philippnes I will do at the Restdays also - tracking what I can and photos from your hills to promote them like Baguio.

But lets keep at Topic: "Tour of Friendship",
Guys - the Stage 2 and 3 will be hard - you will know soon.

Thomas

Hi Thomas,

The Tour of Luzon will be from 12-18 April so that means we can also do the Tour of Friendship on 2-6 May.

I already got my cycling license from my wife angrywife and reserved my air tickets. I am scheduled to arrive in Bangkok on 1 May. Raymond will take the same plane with me.

Cheers,

thomas,

ah there is no problem when you can visit or race in Tour of Luzon or not.

Tour of friendship in thailand...i am sure 200kms in stage 2 will be EXTREMELY DIFFICULT....i take the chance....i am sure EVERYBODY WILL FEEL TIRED AS WELL...(except the elite riders)l....me and most guys we try survive as far as we could...as far as my legs will take me....THEN I KNOW>>.....my physical limit when my body too tired to take a another pedal revolution.

what is life without the risk....? sleeping in bed when tiboy reyes and rest of Philippine team go to tour of friendship and having fun....makes me ENVY LATER ON...

so me and my wife decide forego some of the Philippine races this year...just look forward to Tour of Friendship Thailand..do shopping...do the race...have fun.

ok we want the elevation map of stage 2 and 3 Tour of friendship.

when you can send to manila...we appreciate it.

yes i will take the record of some of the riders up MArcos via kennon road.

when you come this july..you let me know exact date of arrival...then i try prepare some riding for you...am sure my friends will give you the invitation form...so you can excuse yourself at the Thai embassy. Wink

ok this is the news for now...so for sure we start training with tiboy reyes do the 200kilometers training ride....SOON.... Grin
