UPDATE

1) For safety reasons the organizer has decided to release participants by category instead of 1 big bunch.

2) Each Cat will be released with a 5 minute interval... first to be released will be Cat A, then B then C.

3) Contrary to earlier arrangement, the Elite race will be held same day instead of Aug. 29. They will be released after Cat C.

The neutral escort will be from the Municipality of Tagaytay up to Batulao (Tagaytay-Nasugbu Arc) approximately km. 23.

dear friends,

im home safe..i am sleeping in makati tonite...i feel very very happy.

I was working in pampanga the whole week..yesterday morning aug 29 i wanted to do a short 30kms training ride. my bottom bracket creaking..my rear wheel hub got stuck up..after i used it in the rain..so i closed rocka1bikeshop. brought bike to fast freddy the mechanic (my friend) from the rival team MJY bikezone. had the bike greased.

while there about 14 riders from MJY bikezone getting ready to go sleep in tagaytay also ...some starts teasing me..asking their mechanic "tighten the axle cone...so boss raymond wont be able to leave our team captain dennis d menace behind tomorrow"

aug 29 late afternoon i am meeting with my friend dennis datu and pinpin at mcdonalds... ..i was able to arrive at mcdo at 5pm..

6pm received telephone call from arnel ty. "i see you and treat your team to dinner at Gerrys Grill 7pm ray in tagaytay".

so we had a nice dinner at gerrys courtesy of Arnel Ty..richard uy was there first. leain and kaight and team franzia was there also. Richard said "arnel the boss said since cycling team Franzia, leian and kaight were the only guys who decide to take advantage of the hotel accomodations. .the dinner tonight is courtesy of arnel ty"

afterwards we went to Character hotel...fantastic hotel with aircon...... had nice time story telling then went to sleep.

early morning aug 30 race day...

as promised Boss Lucio had the new Franzia jerseys with him and distribution was at Mcdonalds.

teammate dennis datu (aka hdreynolds) with sir lucio with new team Franzia racing kit

group photo of team Franzia wearing the new racing team kit

group foto of team SUUNTO

team Mjy dennis d menace dionisio with larry

group foto of team MJY bikezone near starting line

afterwards we went to registration booth. Around 830am race starts.

weather cloudy....then turned worse..wow several inches of rains..and the cyclists had a very fast and dangerous decent down batulao.,

45kms mark rain starts pouring real hard...cyclists all had stinging sensation due to rain. peloton slowed down from 43 to 38kph...speed went 38 during the rains...when rain stopped..speed picks up..at one stretch up to 53kph...near Calaca.

amazingly i didnt see any crash.. was still fighting and after 55kms i tell myself "i would have reached the finish line at Chocolote hills in bohol by this time...instead this peloton today...was just warming up at km 55..anticipating the tough climbs ahead"

I know after the left turn going up tagaytay corner lemery..the real race will start.

real race starts for cat B i saw Toots Chua in maglia rosa Life Cycle pink jersey looking like the Giro d Italia Champion go up front and pull so hard...i cant follow the 30kms per hour uphill climb. so have to take my own pace. have to make sure dennis d menace (in the absence of dondie azarcon) dont starts pulling away from me.

dennis went with a group i reel him back in...he goes..i reeled him back in....after sometime..i turned big chainring starts pulling away dennis decides race his own pace.

i know i am doing a good race...i reached red line two times. i recovered. switch back to big ring..grinds the pedals..ah im feeling good i have a nice Giant Team Issue wheelset today with lightweight recon sprocket. allowing me climb on compact 36 x 23.

our teamcaptain tiboy did so well up canyon woods..unfortunatel y suffered a flat tire and had to wait 15 minutes for spare tire. sorry about that atty tiboy.

pinpin uy rode strongly past me with two suunto riders...before canyon woods...im sure he will wind up podium..so long he dont have flat...so im already happy

there was a team FRANZIA watering refilling station near fantasy world..thats chinggay datu wife of dennis datu with team Franzia support crew...

anyway near mushroom burger did the best final kms solo ride i can...i cut my previous clocking of 4hours 1 min (stops not included) to 3 hours 30minutes today.

i am very very happy...rode so much better today.

high placed finish for new teammate pinpin uy...who wants to have a foto near the foggy finishline in Tagaytay

waited near the finish..am very very happy as each team Franzia rider crossed the line.

julio viray crosses the finish

Congratulations everybody.. boss Lucio pretty impressive today and also cuts his previous clocking time 4hours 45minutes to new personal best record of 4 hours.

thats the boss...sir Lucio cochanco jr arrives at the finish line with a new personal best record. Congratulations!

warmest congratulations to all..

Joan and claire very sexy and beautiful... and brought so much fun during the awarding ceremonies.

our team Franzia team owner sir Lucio invited not one but two oh so beatiful Franzia promo girls to serve free sampling of Franzia wines and act as the offical podium girls to help in the awarding of the winners trophies..thats miss claire on the left and miss joan on the right... Wink beautiful promo girls from the new glamor team... Grin

business man pinpin uy our new recruit flew all the way from dipolog to meet the franzia beauties errr and also try to do his best participate in the LPGMA race...up payapa today Grin

thanks so much again boss lucio and boss philip opiasa and team Franzia cyclists for all the support.

i wish you all enjoyed your race..

i am looking forward to ride with you guys again soon

raymond see
team Franzia

Hi Boss Raymond,

Congratulations! I saw you ride very strongly leaving my team mate Doc Butch who stop for awhile before the start of the climb to release his 1 liter urine stock in his urinary gland. Grin.

I just arrived yesterday from Taiwan and as you know I was travelling almost the whole month of August for the PLDT project. I was suppose to be back Sunday afternoon but made some adjusments with my schedule as I wanted to watch and support my team.

When I arrive at the starting line it was the release of the Elite riders and knowing that Executives were already release ahead, I decide to turn left at Batolao going to Fantasy World down to Payapa. I saw Franzia's feed zone at Fantasy World and also at the foot of Payapa road going to Tagaytay. In a few minutes Cat A riders were arriving and I saw 3 PLDT riders, Xerox, Bitoy and Dennis which I offer water and gatorade to them. When I saw Franzia's booth, wow! really complete with hydration and food. I was thinking that your bottle probably contains Franzia wine. Grin Grin ( is that your seccret?)

We'll I know you are doing good everytime in the race and I hope I can catch you in the next race in Clark.

Congratulation to team Franzia.

In the morning of the race it was overcast after raining all night. We had the team meeting at McDo about 100meters ahead of the starting/registration site. After distribution of new kit and some last minute strategizing we head for the parking lot to prepare our bikes and more feed station strategizing...

Hey would you mind letting me know which hosting company you're working with? I've loaded your blog in 3 different internet browsers and I must say
this blog loads a lot faster then most. Can you recommend a good internet
hosting provider at a reasonable price? Thanks, I appreciate it!
