Horendous traffic. i missed my plane 1:55pm. I rebooked 0730pm cebu pacific flight . i pay 4thou for me and my welder. Its 650pm im sitting at airport naia3 lounge waiting to board my plane. Unfortunately, Magellan himself died during the journey and only one ship and 18 crew members returned to Spain from the original four ships and 270 people. Magellan met his demise in the Philippine Islands, specifically on Mactan Island in Cebu province, where he engaged in local politics. He died during the Battle of Mactan on April 27, 1521 while fighting against the tribe of the local chieftain Lapu-Lapu on the shores of Mactan Island. The Mactan Shrine is dedicated to both Magellan and Lapu-Lapu and marks the spot where the Battle of Mactan supposedly took place. At the center of a square plaza in the shrine is an obelisk built in memory of Magellan and to the north at the center of a circular plaza is a 20-foot tall bronze statue of Lapu-Lapu, now considered as the Philippines’ first national hero. Every year on April 27, the Battle of Mactan is re-enacted during the Kadaugan sa Mactan festival along the marshes to the north of the shrine. sept 23, 2009 wednesday 6am im at jysquare..im in my racing mode..i want to get my personal individual time trial up buak climb again. here i am waiting for my GREEN IS GO..my simulated ITT starts as soon as this signal is GREEN (at the base of the buak climb across JYSquare) ..i saw doc jv wearing tiger stripes on an orange cycling jersey...going down the mountain he saw me..made u turn chased me back up..:-) he said "no zigzagging ray" im doing a carlos sastre (the tailor zigzagging technique) i cant climb this mountain before without put foot down..:-) anyway i nearly passed out near top..my new best record 43minutes 34 seconds today..chopped 5 minutes from monday's record. well im doing the thomas wiegand technique..means i try get clocking ...try beat my own time next ride. i wonder how the heck the winner did a 30minutes before during ang tour ni frank...im nearly collapsing at the finish line... going down..took me just 15 minutes and i had to apply brakes i would be faster without braking. so its that steep steeper than bugarin am sure..its like pranjetto hills black wall steep. the downhill was lovely with the wide asphalted roads and beautiful scenery...im riding my bike one hand with one hand on celfone camera...(sorry kids dont try this at home) race called Ang tour ni frank in january maybe held here..this was race route before. enroute to my sister in laws house in calamba..passing by fuente osmena anyway on way back i passed by my wife ancestral home where i have breakfast after breakfast i go back to hotel and to work. my wife's ancestral home in calamba (v rama) wearing the green changmai sunday cycling club THAI official jersey..a gift from my friend Thomas Wiegand bike neatly packed already i go home to manila tonite raymond see
